1. I had imagined that you were located in a border region neighboring the Silver peak mountain ranges and the great forest. This allows you to be within the raiding ranges of the DC (dark conclave) and close to the mountains where the underdark (and the primary Drow nation) are located.

2. The Drow you are descended from are those from a group that 'saw the light' per-say and left the underdark after the war where the Drow betrayed the DC and, while not as outcasts, they would not be welcome back. There are drow communities in all major cities, but where you are from is the largest, and until recently had been traditionally ruled by a Drow Duchess (even in the above ground Drow some of the classic Drow mindset of Matriarchal rule still persists )

3. Echo knights are only trained in two 'Armies' in the kingdom; where you are located and the other is on the opposite side of the Kingdom, so soldiers with potential to become Echo knights are sent from all over the knigdom to train where you trained, but are now almost exclusively noble officers, many of which don't have the potential of becoming echo knights they are just heir for the prestige of the echo knight title (although all of them are decent fighters in their own right)

4. Full Echo knights in the knigdom are usually in places that are most likely to encounter the DC as the DC have their own Echo knights that are feared as some of the most deadly enemies in the DC, however even these pale in comparison to the Underdark Drow echo knights <- it was these that turned the tide of the Nightmare War (the war there Drow betrayed the DC)

Name: Ni'hiyalus (Marius, his mothers fathers name. Been using this in exile)
Age : 25

At age 16, stated his 3 year mandatory military service. Towards the end of this he decided to stay within the military.
After 2 more years (ie age 21), due to him exemplary service (and possibly with help from the family of the noble his father saved) was allowed to be selected for training as a full Echo Knight, this is typically only allowed for noble born and to allow basically a commoner within these ranks ruffled a few feathers. Again excelled at this training. During his training a number of students started to really have an issue with him.
Durning training, students you have unlocked their echos, were selected for "special assignments". Basically guard duty at parties that high ranking nobles. Its basiclly bragging rights for the noble that they can have the best students to act as guards for them, also hugely sort after by students for the same.
After 2 years of training (23) and unlocking his first echo was selected for guard duty for a nobles party. 2 days after this he was arrested for stealing the Lady of the Houses jewelery which were found amongst his gear at the barracks. He was also accused of trying to force himself upon one of the said Ladies servants. This led to him being dismissed from the military, striped of equipment supplied to him when he joined and being exiled from TBC (lands name). To help his family and to distance them from him, he convinced his father to publicly denounce and disown him. Was kept in the cells until he was to be escorted from the area and had already been marked as an excile, the backs of both hand had been branded with big X's on them. The night before he was set to leave was visited by name TBC and informed him that TBC (guy who hated him the most) was planning on ambushing and killing him once his escort had left him. They assisted him in escaping. This person handed him his fathers shield sword and cloak, said he had to leave now, couldn't go to his family as that was the first place they would look even though he had been disowned, but that a message could be passed on. Said to tell family he loved them and that he would miss them but would try send them stuff when he could to assist. Left his home lands and has been traveling ever since (2 or so years so now aged 25), mostly working as a guard for caravans and such.

Father remarried when he was 10 to Mi'lindria, and has since had 2 more children boy (Qui'lien age 10 when excied), girl (Il'iyana age 7 when excied)

Father stayed in the military after his mandatory time. Was in the military for 40+ years. During an incursion from some of the dark conclave was injured while saving the life of a noble he was serving under. Injury forced him to leave military service. As a thank you for saving him the noble gifted his father substantual portion of land, which he worked for a number of years before meeting and falling in love with my mother.
The noble he saved has since been killed in another incursion. Without his support a number of lower nobles have managed to use some loopholes in forcing my father to pay taxes on the land he has and they have also managed to take a portion of my fathers land as part of these "taxes" (This is the main reason I convinced my father of denouce and disown me), the main instigator of all this is the same family of the student I had the most issues with at training and who was planning on killing me as i left in excile.

Incident at party was that he saw 3 other recruits, 2 drow and a human with one of the drow th one who hated him the most. He went and told them to stop, they refused and they ended up in a fight. In the end they forced the servant to accuse him with the 3 other being the ones to stop him.
The Duke of the Duchy thought that the dismissal from the Echo Knights was enough and wouldn't go for anything more severe, he seemed to be a bit uncaring to most other races apart from human where the privious Duchess was Drow and she was fair on all within the Duchy. This ruling upset a number of Drow Nobles and many Drow Officers within the Echo Kight who felt that the Duke didn't take it serious enough since it was Drow High Lady, and her property, who had been dishonoured. They approached the Drow Duchess within the Lands (although that was a title in name only as far as the Duke was concern and she held no power) She agreed that Exile would be granted, this would typically involve the person to be Exiled to go into the lands of the Dark Conclave for basically a suicide mission to regain their honour but since he was innocent of all charges he refused to do this, which does happen sometimes. The alternative is that the person has Xs branded on the backs of thier hands and they are escorted from the lands never to return, in most respects this is concidered worse than death as any Drow who see the brands would instantly know and they would distrust you or not even want to have anything to do with you. The Branding is carried out in the capital and then they are escorted out of the lands (The Duchy these days) which includes their home town where they are held for a couple of days and are placed on display at some point. The human who was involved with the allegations approached my father, told him everything. He didn't realise the implications of what would and had happened, appologised for his part in it all. He had heard whispers that the 2 Drow were planning something once the escort had left me and didn't know what to do. After some thought my father told him there was only one thing they could be planning, my death. If it ever got out what they had done they would both be exiled, without the option of a suicide mission, they would be branded and there would likely be reprucussions for their families. Hearing this the human realised that he 2 could be in danger. For there plan to work there could be no witnesses, which meant him and the servant girl they coerced in to accusing me could likely be next to disappear. He said go to the Duke, my father said its likely to late, they would probably have someone watching for that and that basically whats done is done. The branded couldn't be undone and even if I was announced to be free the brands still exist. In the end he gave my father a written confession on what had happened and said that he would attempt to free me so I have a bit of a lead on the 2 others and then he would attempt to get the servant out and save her. My father gave him his shield sword and cloak and told him to give me these and tell me they all loved me and would miss me.
