The Abandoned Ashcroft Manor is Haunted

Professor Aden believes it due to a hidden room -> local Library

The previous investigator never came back (Galaser Aerabriniel ) is actually a paranormal investigator that is trapped in the house by the spirits that were raised by a necromancer cult for some unknown reason (Power, test, fear, distraction)

To release the ghosts there is an artifact in the house to be destroyed

Investigator found the artifact but was driven into this room before they could destroy/find it

must be destroyed by gathering the pieces of the veilstone amulet that was shattered when the Ashfords were murdered

4peices in the house but attempting to remove them draws the spirits of the house to attack whoever moves them

Once gathered they must be joined in the ritual circle (main hall) but the circle must be completed first

The symbols to complete the circle are in the missing page from the notebook (the book was partially destroyed when the investigator fled to the room and is somewhere in the house

A few examples of friendly spirits are:

  • The ghost of a little girl is trapped in the house by some unknown force.
  • A butler spirit inhabits a statue bust of an old lord, animating it to talk.
  • The ghost of an old knight is convinced (Charisma check) to possess a suit of armor and take up arms alongside the party
  • The players unlock a puzzle to release a trapped spirit from an urn—who then reveals an important piece of information to the party.

 

They learn that the mansion was once owned by a wealthy noble family but has been abandoned for years. Legends speak of a hidden room within the mansion that holds valuable treasures.

  2. a) Foyer Puzzle:

    • Upon entering the mansion, the adventurers encounter a magical puzzle in the foyer. They must decipher cryptic symbols or solve a riddle to open a hidden passage.

    b) Ghostly Encounters:

    • As the adventurers explore the mansion, they encounter restless spirits and ghosts that haunt its halls. They can choose to pacify or vanquish these spirits to gather information about the hidden room.

    c) Library Puzzle:

    • In the mansion's library, the adventurers discover a puzzle involving a collection of books and hidden switches. Solving this puzzle reveals a clue about the location of the hidden room.

    d) The Hidden Room:

    • After solving the puzzles and navigating through secret passages, the adventurers finally reach the hidden room. Here, they find valuable artifacts or treasures. However, they must be cautious, as the room may still hold a powerful spirit or guardian.
  3. Conclusion:

    • The adventurers successfully retrieve the treasure and complete their objective, but they must now find a way to escape the mansion while avoiding any remaining threats or curses
